Punggol CC YEC was established in 1991 and has grown by leaps and bounds, expanding to the current 6,214 youths from just 20 when we first started. Punggol CC YEC serves the residents of Bedok Reservoir-Punggol division within Aljunined GRC. We have a coverage of 16,000 households in the Hougang and Bedok areas with an estimate of 14,997 youths. With 7 schools within our division, we strive to be a working partner to schools, a central body to support the youths as well as the go-to for activities. We also constantly strive to organise new programmes as well as events to cater for different interest areas such as arts and culture, sports, community service and citizen engagement among youth and the community.

We believe in “Connecting youths to aspire and create our future communities.” One of our flagship events that happen once every 2 years is Project Ignite. We worked with schools around Punggol CC to bring service learning on a very close basis to the secondary 2 and 3 students. We curate service-learning camps, training workshops from accredited vendors to equip the students with the required skillsets to run a community project. This project has led to a series of community projects that have been organised since 2014, including the PAYM Loves Red @ Community YouthSparks, Project Dough – Canned Food Collection. Because of these activities, the residents around Punggol CC YEC benefited and we have youths who are more enabled to create our future communities.

Through the past 14 terms, we have been recognised from various organisations the effort that the club has placed in. More importantly, we have produced students and project teams that won national awards. We hope to continue to be an enabler for the youth!
